|
The IMP1117A and IMP1117A-1.8, -2.5, -2.85, -3.3 and
?5 are low dropout three-terminal regulators with 1A output current
capability. These devices have been optimized for low voltage where
transient response and minimum input voltage are critical. The 2.85V
version is designed specifically to be used in Active Terminators
for SCSI bus.
On-chip thermal limiting provides protection against any combination
of overload and ambient temperatures that would create excessive
junction temperatures. Unlike PNP type regulators where up to 10%
of the output current is wasted as quiescent current, the quiescent
current of the IMP1117A flows into the load, increasing efficiency.
The IMP1117A series regulators are available in the industry-standard
SOT-223, TO-220, and TO-252 (DPAK) power packages. |

|
The IMP37 Low Dropout (LDO) three-terminal voltage
regulators feature guaranteed low dropout voltages at currents up
to 0.8A. The IMP37 dropout voltage is guaranteed to be 0.95V or lower
at 0.8A. At 100mA, the maximum dropout voltage is 0.8V. Compared with
"1117" type LDOs, the IMP37 has a 20% lower dropout voltage.
Three fixed output voltages are offered: 2.5V, 3.0V and 3.3V. Output
voltages are factory trimmed to within 1% of the nominal value.
In addition to low dropout voltages, the IMP37 family features
greatly reduced quiescent operating current. The 75 microampere
maximum specification represents an over 100 times improvement over
competitive devices.
Devices are short circuit protected, and a thermal protection circuit
shuts the regulator off should the junction temperature exceed 165¡ÆC.
The IMP37 is available in low-profile plastic SOT-223 and TO-263
packages. The IMP37 is pin compatible with fixed "1117"
devices with input voltage levels up to 5.5V |

The IMP2xxx devices are broken into three families; each designed
for exceptionally low dropout voltage. Compared against pin compatible
devices available from TelCom Semiconductor, IMP LDOs have up to
41% lower dropout voltage.
All IMP2xxx LDOs have a shutdown mode that cuts current to less
than 2 microamperes. Quiescent current under no load is 33 microamperes
typically (50 microamperes maximum).
In addition, all devices are designed with thermal and short circuit
protection for ruggedness.
There are three families. Each family has 60mA, 110mA and 160mA
devices. Each family has different functional capability but the
same electrical specifications in terms of dropout voltage performance
and quiescent current. All IMP2xxx LDOs have shutdown capability
for system power savings.
Two families offer fixed output voltages of 2.5V, 2.7V, 2.85V,
3.0V, 3.3V, 3.6V, and 4.0V.
- IMP2014, IMP2015, and IMP2185 (60mA/110mA/160mA):
Fixed Outputs. Includes reference bypass pin for lower noise and

- IMP2054, IMP2055, and IMP2186 (60mA/110mA/160mA):
